Faith Christian Group Welcomes the Mayor of Reading and The Rector of Reading Minster Reverend Stephen Pullin

Malcolm Peirce (Director), Nick Beard (Chair Trustee), Amanda Bayley (Office Manager) welcomed Mohammed Ayub and Stephen Pullin (Patron of FAITH) for an informal chat about all the ministries of FAITH.  Malcolm shared stories of the history of FAITH which led into how FAITH have grown, how it serves and impacts Greater Reading.

During Mohammed’s visit he was treated to a tour of the warehouse.  Alison Peyton (ReadiFood Co-ordinator) introduced him to our volunteers Judy, Laoni, Julia and John and explained about our emergency food parcel delivery service.

Wendy Harris (FCG Administrator and ReadiStreet Co-ordinator) and Louise Cross (B4N Co-ordinator) also spent time informing Mohammed about their roles and involvement within FAITH.

Stephen asked ”What is RBC’s idea of our services, how informed are the Councillors?” and Mohammed replied “They are aware you play an important part and we would be in a worse situation without you”.  It is obvious that difficult choices have to be made with regard to funding organisations and agencies in Reading and as a Major “wished he could do more”.

We ended the visit with photographs and  Mohammed expressed his thanks for the service that FAITH provide and said he would take the information he had learnt back to his Chambers.
